What’s new in Money Steps
Version 1.1
November 5, 2026
- New track: Investing, deeper (17 lessons): where money should live, high-yield savings, money market funds, CDs, the Roth IRA step by step, Roth vs traditional math, 401(k) vs IRA, kids’ accounts, HSAs, PPO vs high-deductible, funds and fees, taxes on investing, stocks vs bonds, rebalancing, the order to do things, Social Security.
- Protecting your family: leaving money to kids, skipping probate, and asking your parents about their plan.
- Life Plan: pick a health plan (PPO or high-deductible with an HSA) and where your savings live (checking, savings, high-yield, money market). Interest is paid monthly, so the difference shows.
- Choices with 3 or 4 answers and real costs: a raise, a windfall, student loan plans, a job offer with a long commute, a hail claim, a friend’s food truck, and where to park your emergency fund.
Version 1.0
November 4, 2026
- Life Plan feels more like real life: prices rise each year, family may raise your share or need your room, and cars age, break down or get totaled.
- Date, move in, get engaged, plan a wedding at any budget, and start a family, with childcare choices and a partner who has their own money habits.
- New farmer career (yes, the tractor), plus surprises for every kind of job.
- Max out a credit card and you get a way back: a weekend job or cutting back hard.
- New lessons: Protecting your family (wills, beneficiaries, life insurance, turning 18).
- New games: Wedding Budget, Baby’s First Year, Will Builder, Car Insurance Picker and Apartment Hunt.
