Why I Sell Comics

Why I Started Selling Comics: Community, Integrity, and Giving Back

My journey into selling comics began with one small act: a $15 credit from my local shop, HouseofM. I used that credit to attend my first comic show on Whatnot.

Over time, I’ve met countless fellow fans and sellers, but one story stands out above the rest. Jojo_collectables is run by Weldon, and at the heart of his passion is “little Jojo,” Weldon’s son who lives with hydrocephalus. Despite the challenges hydrocephalus brings, every small sign of resilience and determination in little Jojo is deeply inspiring—a powerful reminder that strength often shines through the smallest victories.

In our community, we celebrate those victories with blue hearts 💙. Whether we’re sharing show dates, expressing our thanks, or joining raids of our fellow friends, that simple symbol carries all our shared values: comics, family, faith, and friendship.

I don’t sell comics to make money—at least, not right now. My focus is on:

  • Showing integrity in every deal
  • Building genuine rapport with fellow collectors
  • Growing our community through support and kindness
  • And trying to break even—worst case.

Helping others is what drives me. If profit ever comes, it’ll be a bonus, but my true reward is seeing people connect over these amazing stories and joining a community where people really care.

I specialize in uncirculated soft slabs—comic issues that have never been handled, sealed in clear, protective PETG sleeves—and I run unlimited giveaways throughout each show. Many sellers have shifted to lower‑cost items like stickers or trading cards (typically $1–2 each), but I choose to give away comic books. A single comic, with its packaging, cost of the book, and shipping, runs $5–$10 due to its weight and value.

Beyond this, I host buyer’s giveaways featuring 4D superhero puzzles, Graded Slabs, and Funko Pops adding extra excitement and rewarding community engagement.

From that first HouseofM show, my journey led me to many fantastic sellers who’ve become friends and inspirations:

  • joeydww1
  • storagebag
  • s_plissken
  • campanawanna
  • queenrisa
  • kal_elofkrypton
  • princessofcomicgains
  • smalls127

And so many more amazing people I’ve met along the way. I can’t even count them all. I truly appreciate each story, review, and comment they share to me and my pages. Your feedback means the world to me and keeps me passionate about what I do.

Selling comics isn’t about profit margins or market trends for me—it’s about giving back to a community that’s given me so much. It’s about celebrating the resilience I see in friends like Weldon, honoring the friendships formed at every show, and sharing the purest comic-collecting experience through pristine, soft-slabbed issues.
